About Dr. I. Bruce Frumkin

  • Dr. Frumkin holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
  • Dr. Frumkin has more than 40 years of experience in evaluation and consultation for the legal and mental health professions.
  • Dr. Frumkin has earned a Diplomate in Forensic Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology, one of approximately 350 nationwide. He is a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Forensic Psychology.
  • Dr. Frumkin is nationally known for his work in the area of capacity to waive Miranda rights, False/Coerced Confessions, and Interrogative Suggestibility. He has published in this area, has given numerous presentations to psychology and legal groups, and has conducted more than 700 evaluations in confession-related cases.
  • Dr. Frumkin works nationally in State, Federal, and Military Courts and is hired by both the defense and prosecution. In civil cases he has worked for both the plaintiff and defense.
  • Dr. Frumkin is a frequent presenter at regional and national conferences for both the legal and psychology communities. He has presented on such topics as competency to waive Miranda rights, interrogative suggestibility, false/coerced confessions, intelligence testing and intellectual disability, malingering, and multicultural issues in forensic and clinical assessment.
  • Dr. Frumkin has a national practice with his headquarters located just outside Philadelphia. He is fully licensed to practice psychology in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, and Illinois.
  • Dr. Frumkin is a member of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) which allows him to practice in 34 states.

FCPA Associates

  • A number of mental health associates work as independent contractors for FCPA.
  • This is done either in conjunction with Dr. Frumkin’s involvement in a case or independently.
  • This provides needed forensic services in the areas of Spanish-language and non-English language assessments, neuropsychological evaluations, and culturally appropriate evaluations.
  • Dr. Frumkin has professional contacts throughout the country and can also arrange referrals to other psychologists who can work directly to the referring attorney.
